You’re right. I actually like this compass because it captures much better what I’m talking about in terms of liberty and liberalism: you can be what has been classically described as “left” or “right” but if you fall below the x-axis (“libertarian”) then you’re still a liberal of sorts. I’d like to see this compass adopted more in political talk.
