I did not watch the BBC adaptation. My understanding though is that Pierre is largely based on Tolstoy.

I get the feeling that, based on what you’ve shared about yourself here, that you’ll really like Pierre. He is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. He gets even weirder. You’ll see.

I can’t answer your question about women’s accessories. I’ve never bought any, nor used them, and my wife is a simple woman with modest tastes. I like that detail about ridicule. Nice.
